What We Love from the 2026 Utah Valley Parade of Homes

Every June, the Utah Valley Parade of Homes gives us a front-row seat to the latest trends in new home design. This year’s event (June 4–20) featured 39 stunning homes across Utah County, from Alpine down to Nephi. Our team at Team Fischer Homes walked through many of them, looking not just for the “wow” factor, but for ideas that actually matter to today’s buyers, especially those 55 and better who want beautiful, livable homes.

Here are the biggest trends we saw and why they’re worth paying attention to:

Curves Are Taking Over

Sharp corners are stepping aside. This year, arches, circles, and soft curves showed up everywhere. Think rounded doorways, curved kitchen islands, and round area rugs anchoring dining rooms. Even ceilings got in on it, with soft domed details replacing flat, boxy shapes. It is a simple shift, but it changes how a room feels. Curves feel calm and welcoming. Straight lines feel sharp and formal.

Texture and Contrast Shine

Designers mixed rough and smooth textures beautifully:

  • Hand-finished plaster walls

  • Grasscloth wallpaper

  • Fluted (grooved) cabinetry

  • High-gloss tiles paired with matte or darker finishes

This combination of textures adds depth and visual interest without making a room feel busy.

Bold, Moody Colors Are Back

Gone are the days of safe, all-white interiors. This year, rich, saturated colors dominated with deep greens, warm browns, moody charcoals, and dramatic blacks. These colors were used on full walls (and sometimes entire rooms), creating cozy, personality-filled spaces that feel both elegant and inviting.

One Easy Trend You Can Borrow

You don’t need a full remodel to bring 2026 design trends into your home. Start small: Paint the inside of a built-in bookshelf, a powder bathroom, or a reading nook in a bold color like forest green or warm navy. Add a round mirror or curved light fixture, and you instantly capture the modern, welcoming feel that buyers love right now.
